Another order complete

I went to a Labor Day party last Sunday at an old friend's house.  She needs a gift for a newborn baby boy and she ordered a sweater and legging set from me.  Of course I started as soon as I arrived home and was well on my way with it before the night was through.  I finished the sweater on Tuesday and the leggings Thursday night.  She also wants a toy animal.  She chose a squirrel from the patterns that I showed her.  I started it last night and finished it today.  Not too bad...a sweater and legging set and a squirrel in just six days. I was happy to get the order for the squirrel because I have been anxious to make some of the new toys from the pattern book I recently found.  I am thinking that I am going to make another play mat with some of these animals for my newest grand baby due at the end of Feb.  I have in mind to make a woodlands scene for this mat since most of the animals are woodland animals: owl, squirrel, skunk, bear, and frog.  I have been working on sweaters for the kids for Christmas.  I finished with the gifts for the ladies (I will not say what they are because I want to keep it a surprise for those who may be reading my blog).  Here are pictures of the sweater and leggings on my granddaughter, Portia.  Even though the outfit is for a boy, Portia was just the right size for modeling it for grandma.

I forgot that I want to make a winter cap for this little guy.  I'll have to get on that right away. I'm not sure what I will do after that.  I will either work on some more sweaters or start the new play mat.  I'm always working on something.  I go crazy when I don't have something to work on.

Came home from working out at the gym and got right to the hat tonight.  I decided to make his hat match the sweater and leggings.  I was disappointed  because the pattern made the hat way too large.  I had to take it in by sewing a seam all across from one side of the hat to the other.  I'm not that happy with it, but I did not want to take it out and do it over after I had finished it.  Once I attached the hat to the head, it didn't look quite so odd anymore.  I think he is kind of cuter with the hat than without.  See what you think.
